Autumn Day of Practice

This year, we will not be holding our usual Autumn Sesshin due to the unusual pressures of a year

weighted by two fairly monumental events – two Dharma Transmission Sesshins and Ceremonies – the

first, for Kirk Fisher (in Victoria and Melbourne, April 21-19), and the second, taking the place of our

annual Spring Sesshin, for Kynan Sutherland.

However, to make up for the sesshin we will be missing, we are offering a fresh range of full Sangha Days

of Practice – one day of Practice in each of May and November, and a full Weekend of Practice in August

- starting with this first event on May 28, from 6.00am–5.30pm in the established online/offline pattern.

Each of these offerings are culmination to a term of Taking Part in the Gathering, but they will be broadly

open to all ZOC Members on a sign-up basis. Note that the order of signing-up will determine the

possibility of access to dokusan on the day, so don’t hesitate too long…!

We will loosely follow the pattern of the daylight hours of an established online sesshin day, with

zazen, sutras, dokusan, readings and teisho. There will also be an invitation to engage in (optional)

creative work, springing from our ongoing exploration of dana and the paramitas.
